2012
2011 was an amazing year, and 2012 should turn out to be equally as fantastic, if not even more fantastic. Now, while the rate of fantastic that will occur in 2012 is not strictly based on the amount of fantastic that occurred in 2011, if we base our estimates off of the previous year, we can make a reasonable assumption that 2012 will be fantastic.
I can’t understand what I just wrote.

Blog Action Day 2011: Food
Blog Action Day 2011 falls on World Food Day, so naturally this year’s topic is food!
Many people today are sharing their own family traditions concerning food. Thanksgiving customs and homemade recipes. That’s great. Really.
But to me, Blog Action Day seems more like a day to take action, rather than swap stories.
Still more people are talking about famine, a phenomenon that seems...

An open letter to Hurricane Irene.
Dear Irene,
I understand that with your large size and rotund features you may think that you are “all that” and perhaps even “a bag of chips”. I understand that you have low self-esteem considering the fact that no one likes you and they all wish that you would just go away. None of them have invited you to their parties and in fact most have hidden away just to avoid...

REVIEW: L.A. Noire (360)
I just finished the main storyline of L.A. Noire. Goodness gracious, I had a blast with this one. Let’s walk through my impression of it overall, and see if I can convince you to pick it up for yourself.
L.A. Noire is a crime thriller set in 1947 Los Angeles. You take on the role of Detective Cole Phelps, a World War II hero who is back home ready to serve his city. As you rise through...
So I've taken up biking.
Crazy, right? I’m not one for athletics of any sort. Or activity of any sort. I am the king of laziness, with a self-proclaimed 8+ hours of internet surfing a day for the majority of my teen years.
That being said, I’ve always been that guy who wishes he was that guy that did things. So this past weekend I dragged my bike out of the basement and got ready to start riding it around.

Klout: I am now a Specialist.
My latest Klout.com analysis has listed me as a “Specialist”, which is new for me. For years (or at least, the start of Klout), I’ve been listed as an Explorer, one who “gets it and will soon be moving up.”
The one person in my network that has ever been listed (to my visibility) as a Specialist is Ed Palumbo (@DotEd). I am now one of two in my visible network, yet...

2010.
So, that’s it. We’re done with 2010, or just about. 2011 is starting and it’s the beginning of a new decade.
Wait, is it? Weren’t the first ten years of the new millennium 2000-09? I am so confused by time.
Regardless, I just want to take the time to look back on the past year. It’s been filled with some amazing times and experiences.
I went through three jobs this...

Review: Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II. We return to follow Starkiller after he has been betrayed yet again by Darth Vader. The release of this game is no real surprise, given the talk that surrounded the release of it’s predecessor, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. A fantastic game, albeit with it’s downfalls. I start off Unleashed II with great expectation, both as a fan of the first...
What I Do With $100 in LinkedIn Advertising Credit
Linkedin.com is a popular and useful career-based networking site. Many have referred to it as the “professional Facebook”, a term which I agree with. There are no silly applications or games, simply the addition and tracking of friends and colleagues based around your previous work history, resume, and personal skills.
The service as an ability to post ads, either offering work or...
Looking For Alaska: Discussion Questions
I just finished reading a book that my girlfriend (we’ve actually been dating for exactly a year, so yay!) loaned me - Looking For Alaska by John Green. A fantastic read, it is about a junior in high school named Miles Halter, who’s obsession with famous last words has led him on a search for “The Great Perhaps”, a changing, defining moment in his life. In hopes of finding...
Today, I Was Able to Vote for the First Time.
I’m nineteen. This was the first election that I have been able to participate in. I was so excited.
The polling place is at the elementary school on the corner of my street, so I walked. As I walked into the cafetorium where I spent my days as a kid playing dodgeball and eating lunch (at separate times, mind you), I was surprised that there was no one there.
The people who ran the show...
Monsters of Sin.
My youth group had a Halloween Zombie Attack last night. This was my message.
Zombie. Ephesians 2.
What is/defines a zombie?
Disheveled - doesn’t really have everything sorted out.
Hungry for brains.
Doesn’t run, shuffles along.
Flesh falling off. Organs falling out.
Zombies are reanimated corpses. The dead brought to life as an empty shell of what they once were. Does that...

Digital Outreach - Why I am Working Harder to...
I have realized that (when it comes to the Internet,) I am a pretty self-centered person.
When I sign into Twitter, I log in, go straight to the “Mentions” page, and if no one has talked about or to me recently, I tend to immediately close out of the website. When I check this blog and no one else has commented, I am confused. Enough people visit, according to Google Analytics, so why...

Blog Action Day 2010: Water
Let’s start this off with some facts.
884 million people lack access to safe water supplies; approximately one in eight people.
3.575 million people die each year from water-related disease.
An American taking a five-minute shower uses more water than a typical person in a developing country slum uses in a whole day.
Every 20 seconds, a child dies from a water-related disease.
